INTERLINK UP TO THE CHALLENGE OF ONE BREWERY WHARF
Interlink Fabrications are proud to have been specified to provide the Rainscreens for the prestigious final phase of the Brewery Wharf development in Leeds.
Work is currently being carried out on the One Brewery Wharf project, which will house 151 apartments and 10,000 square feet of ground-floor offices with parking for 89 cars, and is due for completion in October 2008. Interlink Fabrications were challenged by DLA Architecture to produce aluminium composite rainscreens and ancillaries to fit the job. Interlink Fabrications are no stranger to challenges, and with their advanced in-house team and design software the project posed no problems, supplying three colours; Wave in a matt finish, Midnight Blue in 80% gloss to replicate the principal architectural feature, a full height glazed prow, and Polar White in 80% gloss as well as all the bars and brackets.
Graham Todd, Facades Manager for Interlink Fabrications said "We enjoyed creating such brilliant effects through colour and gloss in an optically flat system. Some parts of the job were very intricate, such as the raked panels on the fabulous shard detail. The finished effect will be incredibly striking. This will be a beautiful project that really showcases our work.
Contractor Barry Collen adds "Interlink worked very closely with us to meet the needs of DLA Architecture and the main contractor Gleeson Building Ltd, even going as far as helping with the design approval so that it met all the wind loading requirements for the project to produce a wonderful rainscreen that was not only very visually appealing but was cost-effective and easy to install too."
